In the meantime, the ATA Library has a variety of makerspace kits available for loan for professional development. These kits are categorized as A-D, E-G, etc. and there are also several books on STEM, coding and technology in the classroom. Keep an eye on this page for more resources to support your professional development.
Your ATA Library stocks the newest makerspace technology for our members to try out so that teachers can make informed decisions about the type of technology that would work best in their classrooms. You will find preassembled robots, DIY robots, electronics kits, 3D printing pens, drones, virtual reality headsets, and so much more.
To find a complete listing of all maker kits in our library, please visit https://teachers-ab.libguides.com/makerspaces
The ATA library mails kits to teachers for a 4-week loan and return postage is included with the kit so there is no cost for borrowing from the library. Items can be renewed if they have not been requested by another teacher.
If you have questions about any of our makerspace kits or library services, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 780-447-9400 (if in Edmonton) or 1-800-232-7208.
